Mr. Tennyson White is a clean all-white high top with a serious lift hidden inside.
It has that fresh white sneaker look, but the shape is a bit more structured than your usual casual pair. The premium grade cow leather gives it a cleaner finish, and the higher cut around the ankle makes it feel a little sharper. Still easy though. Nothing too loud. Just white leather, white laces, and a simple shape that does its job.
You could wear this with blue denim and a plain tee without thinking much about it. Black jeans work too, especially if you like that clean contrast. Chinos, a knit polo, a linen shirt on warmer days — all the usual stuff. It is casual wear, but it still looks tidy enough when you want to look like you made a bit of an effort.
Inside, Mr. Tennyson gives you an 11cm / 4.33" height increase. That is one of the bigger lifts in the JENNEN Shoes range, but from the outside, it still reads as a clean pair of men’s high top sneakers. The lift is built into the shoe, so there is no obvious heel or strange platform look.
The internal height system uses non-compressing polyurethane with JENNEN cushion, so it is made to hold its height and feel steady underfoot. The premium grade rubber outsole gives the shoe a firm base too, which matters with an 11cm lift. You want that extra height to feel supported, not soft or wobbly.
Mr. Tennyson is named after Tennyson, a friend of Jennen’s with a lot of talents and skills. Fairly fitting, actually, because this shoe does a few things at once. It gives you maximum height, keeps the look clean, and still stays pretty easy to wear.
